The death of the teacher 'Joe' Arroyo leaves the country without one of the greatest performers of Colombian and Caribbean music. As an artist he created and combining new sounds from their cultural heritage, while his name with respect, creativity and pride, our musical forms throughout the world.
As a Colombian and a teacher of music, 'Joe' was an inspiration to other artists and filled us with joy. With his work was Caribbean music to an unexpected level. In 2009 we were privileged to pay tribute when the Mayor was invited to interpret their successes with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá at Parque Simón Bolívar during the XII Festival Salsa al Parque.

The Society of Authors and Composers of Colombia SAYCO-deeply regrets the passing of Master ALVARO JOSE ARROYO GONZALEZ - JOE ARROYO, one of the great exponents of our music, who set a time and a unique style to express their notes, their feelings and emotions.
His body will lay in state at the headquarters of SAYCO in Barranquilla, located on Calle 64 No. 53-29, Barrio El Prado, where it will be from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm, then will move to Vigil Gardens Halls of Eternity located in the Cra 52 No. 74-112 and tomorrow (July 27) will take you to the Cathedral of Barranquilla to perform his funeral later in Gardens of Eternity, at 4:00 pm
